[Okay, so here's what went down. At some point, Roxas took a bad memory that dovetailed badly with some of the other stuff going on in his head. Ven felt something go really wrong and contacted Dream and the rest of you ASAP. Dream allowed an emergency heart game to take place, giving you all an additional task as a quest:

Everyone will get pens and stickers that they will write on. Each person running will have five stickers that they have to use to try to identify something in the heart. It can be used on people, objects, the air, whatever rolls for you, so, for example, "I am going to put this sticker on Roxas, because he is clearly Roxas" or "This stone must be a stone and not a representation of his deep, weighing sense of guilt".

Guesses can be whatever the character thinks the object is. There is no limit to guesses! The catch is that the sticker will shrivel up if their guess is not correct. They cannot use the sticker again if this happens. If it is correct, then it will remain on the object with no effects whatsoever upon Roxas' heart. (Halfway answers which you might run into get shriveled up but don't come off nor do they reveal the whole message of what they were supposed to be.) If they want to use another sticker on the same object . . . No deal. Likewise, people cannot guess on the same object that someone else has.]

As Saix says this, a light burst hits him. Not enough to do him serious damage, but enough to make him stagger backward.

"Oh, is that how it is?"

[h...aha, this the best time to see that memory for the first time, and from Beatrice's perspective too]

[going to investigate the chains]

"Doesn't like me badmouthing his so-called friend. Her name was Xion. You'll see soon enough what she did. Once you can enter the main scene, anyway. [jerking his head at the shatter-glass drawing.]

"No matter." He takes a black key out of his pocket and hands it to Lloyd. This'll bring you back when you're done. [He gestures, and a dark portal opens in front of you.]

But you still blame yourself?

You find yourself standing on a spacious stained-glass platform. You catch glimpses of fiery feathers etched into the glass. Most of the ground, however, is covered with thousands upon thousands of winged keys. Their wings flutter feebly, unable to lift the keys off the ground.

Toward the center of the platform, a space seems to have been cleared of keys. It looks as though something had once stood in that space, but whatever it was seems to have been shattered into pieces. Those pieces now litter the ground.

Over at the edge of the platform, jagged chains pierce through the glass, hooking into it like burrs. The chains lead off into the distance, toward what looks like another platform - one choked by a smoke-like darkness.

And on the opposite side of those chains, there is a walkway leading to yet another platform, this one brightly lit. However, this walkway seems to be blocked off with yellow caution tape.

...takes the key and closes his fingers over it, then nods to Saïx before walking through the portal.]

[Worst way ever! As it fades, you feel a dulled but undeniable stab of anguish you can tell isn't yours. "He was already dead. Not like I could have saved him, anyway.” The voice doesn’t seem to come from anywhere in particular."

The glass is brittle where the chains hook into it, with wisps of smoky darkness escaping through the cracks. As you approach, the darkness solidifies into a monster.]

"Yeah."

[You go here.]

Caution? Huh?

[glances around and reaches down to pick a winged key up carefully, petting it as he examines it]

Roxas, can you hear me? You could hear Isa talking.

[oh crap, backing away]

Ah...hello?

[Unfortunately, there is no reply. The key does not protest you picking it up, though it seems to be shivering. Its wings look broken.]

Okay.

I won't tell you not to, because that's part of owning your decisions. But, if you want to do something about it, get up and come with me.

I hope you can hear me even if you're not talking right now. Things don't look good in here. I'm gonna try and help out, okay?

[quietly, to the key]

...that's no good. You guys have got to find a way to heal up.

[clearing a few keys carefully away so he can get a better look at the stained glass picture.]

[The heartless seems more interested in attacking you than in saying hi... only to be zorched by a beam of light]

[Roxas nods. You can see his muscles move, like he's trying to get up... but nothing happens. He turns even whiter, if possible.]

"Why can't I? I want to!"

[Those seem to be Firebird's wings.]

*glancing down at the chairs and the rest of the audience, a little suspiciously*

[hmm... makes a guess at where her face would be and clears more keys away to look at her expression.]

The bodies? The...chains.
